Warsaw’s public transport has higher passenger load during election Sundays (when it is free) over standard Sundays (when it is paid).
Sunday 15 October 2023 was one of the dates I asked about the Warsaw Public Transport Authority when it comes to passenger load. And since I got the answer straight from the source – let it speak.
Standard Sundays and national holidays: 901,249 passengers
Sunday 15 October 2023 (parliamentary elections, day when the PT was free): 1,027,686 passengers
That’s a ~13% increase – despite election booths (at least in Warsaw) you can access by foot! Instead of forcing people to pay every single time for a PT ride, even those who pay taxes in that exact city, just charge at least latter people for a ride via taxes only!
