The nagging concerned was on the stage of changing your browser. Only recently I learned that this actually came to an end due to the DMA.
It’s worth mentioning that I despise Windows (and Microsoft in entirety) due to other reasons than just this nag screen.
Windows users can feel envious of one thing – for instance, Linux users can set up their favourite browser as a default without excessive nagging that “this browser is the best just use it come on do not change it”.
I had a problem with links opening in the browser I am not daily driving (i.e. the GNOME’s built-in browser, Epiphany – for instance inline video player does not work there, at least in my case). All I needed is to a) simple search for the default apps settings, b) click into the appropriate menu, c) “Web” > Librewolf. That’s all.
How can you even live with this (and probably 100s of other abhorrent UX decisions made by Microsoft at Windows)? It’s unimaginable.
Have you considered making use of the `Accept-Language` header?

Jak podaje Warszawski Transport Publiczny w najnowszej notatce prasowej, linia M1 warszawskiego metra została przywrócona na całej trasie. Ważna uwaga do użytkowników ProtonMaila: na adres e-mail Dyrekcji Generalnej LP nie wyślecie swojego zapytania, gdyż serwer mailowy organu państwowego (!) blokuje możliwość kontaktu przez obywatela.
Zamiast tego reagujcie przez ePUAP, pisząc na “Dyrekcję Generalną LP”.

Nie byłbym sobą, gdybym nie napisał interpelacji w tej sprawie.
The point is, that on Hejto (which is a Polish social media site) – on which I started a [@kontrabanda_blog](<https://kontrabanda.net/@kontrabanda_blog>) account to gain new following – people here really liked the way I explained XMPP to newbies or returning-after-many-years users.
And although I appreciate the high reputation the article has garnered across Hejto’s community, that happened in a bit unfavourable moment: there’s no XMPP client for at least Android, which “just works” and the user interface won’t make you run away from XMPP seconds after you look at it.
I really looked forward to improve the interface part of Monocles Chat. But if Monocles Chat’s lead developer said that app designer despised my potential improvements – there’s no other way than just forking the code away.
Monocles Chat is the Android XMPP client which is greatest in terms of functionality, but the interface… holy fucking shit, I never saw such inconsistencies on every step. The interface of Monocles Chat is abhorrently ugly.
I opened one pull request some time ago in the Codeberg repository but the progress has stalled on this. And when I asked some day why these changes were not accepted, the reasoning that stood behind this is that… a “designer not corroborating with my UI improvement suggestions”.
Holy fucking shit. I would NEVER hire such a designer at a first place. This is why XMPP is not appealing to especially non-technical youth.
